Itinerary

1

First Day:

Belgrade – Novi Sad

Arrival at Belgrade Airport and welcome to the professional guide of the agency.

  • Transfer to Novi Sad / depending on the time of arrival, possible visit to one or several monasteries on Fruška Gora /.
  • A walk through the historic center of Novi Sad: City Hall, Cathedral, Banovina, pedestrian zone with restaurants and cafes. Sightseeing of the Petrovaradin Fortress, called Gibraltar on the Danube, thanks to its exceptional strategic position.
  • Traditional dinner in a restaurant with a beautiful view of the Danube. Accommodation. Overnight.

Second Day:

Fruska Gora monasteries – Belgrade

After breakfast, a full day tour of the Fruška Gora National Park.

  • Sightseeing of the monasteries Krušedol and Grgeteg, the most famous and best preserved monasteries among the seventeen medieval monasteries on Fruška Gora.
  • Traditional lunch at Perko’s farm.
  • Drive through the beautiful slopes of Fruška Gora to Sremski Karlovci – the cultural, spiritual and educational center of the Serbs.
  • Sightseeing of the beautifully decorated Baroque center: Patriarchal Palace, Cathedral of St. Nicholas, fountain near the Four Lions, Gymnasium.
  • Visit to the Honey Museum and wine tasting in the authentic wine cellar.
  • Drive to Belgrade. Accommodation in a hotel. Traditional dinner. Overnight

Third Day:

Manasija – Ravanica – Lazarica – Kalenic

After breakfast drive to the monastery Manasija and sightseeing.

  • Drive to the monastery of Ravanica, 15th century, one of the best examples of the Moravian architectural school, where the holy relics of Prince Lazar are kept.
  • Continuation of the drive to Kruševac and sightseeing of the church of Lazarica from the 15th century, an exceptional example of Moravian architecture.
  • Rich traditional lunch. Drive to the monastery Kalenić.
  • Arrival in Kruševac and accommodation in a hotel. Dinner, Overnight

Fourth Day:

Ljubostinja – Žiča

  • After breakfast, a tour of the Ljubostinja monastery from the 15th century, named after the place where Prince Lazar and Princess Milica first met and fell in love.
  • Continuation of the drive to Kraljevo and sightseeing of the monastery Žiča from the 13th century, in which seven medieval Serbian kings were crowned.
  • Continue driving through the Ibar valley and a rich traditional lunch at the Maglic Fortress.
  • Arrival in Vrnjacka Banja and free time for individual activities. Dinner. Overnight

Fifth Day:

Studenica – Gradac – Holy Apostles Peter and Paul church – Đurđevi Stupovi – Sopoćani 

  • After breakfast drive through the Ibar valley to Ušće and to the Studenica monastery. Sightseeing.
  • Drive to the Gradac monastery, the endowment of Queen Jelena of Anjou from the 13th century, the wife of King Uroš I. Lunch.
  • Continue driving to Novi Pazar. Visit to the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, the oldest church in the Balkans, of unique Byzantine architecture.
  • Continuation of the drive to the monastery Đurđevi Stupovi.
  • Continuation of the drive to the monastery Sopoćani, from the 13th century, which belongs to the world cultural UNESCO heritage.
  • Accommodation in a hotel in Novi Pazar. Dinner. Overnight

Sixth Day:

Muzej Ras – Nikolje – Divčibare

  • After breakfast visit the Ras Museum with impressive ethnographic collections.
  • Continue driving to Ovčarsko Kablarska gorge, a protected area known for its preserved nature, relict flora and fauna and ten medieval monasteries located along the West Morava.
  • Visit to the monastery of Nikolje.
  • Continue driving to Divčibare, the famous mountain tourist center of Serbia.
  • Accommodation in a hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

Seventh Day:

Monastery Ćelije – Belgrade

  • After breakfast, drive through the landscapes of the exceptional beauty of Maljen and Povlen.
  • Sightseeing of the Ćelije Monastery, the endowment of King Dragutin from the 13th century.
  • Continue driving to Belgrade, lunch.
  • Sightseeing of Belgrade: Temple of Saint Sava / the second largest Orthodox church in the world /, Republic Square, Kalemegdan Fortress.
  • A visit to an icon-painting workshop and a conversation with artists-painters, or a visit to the Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Church or the Gallery of Frescoes.
  • Accommodation in a hotel. Formal closing dinner. Overnight.

Eighth Day:

After breakfast transfer to Belgrade airport, departure flight and completion of programs and services.
